Writing term 4

During the year we've had writing slides to keep most of our work from our books and docs in. Since it's almost the end of the year it's optional for our slides to be emailed to our parents so that they can see our work and see what we've been up to throw the year. Here are some of the things I have put in my writing  slide.

Excellence

WALT: display excellence in all that we do.

WILF: has been 'me' displaying 'my best, a can do attitude' in different situations, environments and in my learning. 

 

Next step: I believe I still need to work on showing excellence in writing. I will do my best to do this in 2017.   

Athletics day

WALT: develop fundamental skills required for athletics 

WILF: - Correct technique for throwing the discus and shotput

          -Correct technique for long jump and high jump

          -Passing the baton accurately in relay sprints

I am proud of my Long jump because I came first in the 11 year old girls champs

It was a challenge for me to jump in high jump because I haven't done it in a while but I gave it my best. 

My next step is to practice my throwing and jumping. 

Next year I would like to do my best and try to get better at the skills I'm not so good at.

My best event was long jump because I found it fun when we jumped into the sand.

Adam started it off; as he silently spoke into my ear I automatically started spitting out saliva as I laughed my head off! Jack was staring at me like I was a weirdo,

Valerie Adams News report

Rio

Valerie Adams was on her way to the rio De Janeiro Olympics Hoping to achieve her 3rd gold medal in shot put; well as represent her country.

Her arms were shaking; her face showed passion. As Valerie Adams got into place the crowd went quiet. She took a shot…………. The crowd went wild! Did she have it or did she not?

Michelle carter, the US shot putter got to the stand and threw the shot put 20.63 meters. Adams had only made it 20.42 meters.

 Adam's face shrunk; but then she started clapping with joy even though she hadn't won she was still happy for her.

Letter to Ava

This is my letter to Ava about my holiday.

62 1st Avenue New York City 

Dear Ava

In the holidays I went to Bali with my annoying sister and my Nanna. The flight was 17 hours but it felt like it was 17 years. As I walked off the plane I could tell the difference in the humid air.

While I was there it my birthday; I didn't want it to be a big deal but I really enjoyed the gooey,rich,milk chocolate cake.  It smelt like milk chocolate as I smothered it all over my face. 

The weather was like you were in a boiling hot pot; speaking of pots their Nasi goreng is just spectacular. Nasi goreng basically means fried rice in Bahasa; it just melts in your mouth.

I had a good hot time in Bali; but on the little plane back there was dramatic turbulence but we made it back safely.

The mystery of my twin brother

We  got a task to write a story including a duck, jandals and key 

This is my story:

                                                   The mystery of my twin brother 

3 2 1 action!”Hi it's me again,detective Joseph Gunn the duck.It's the 20th of August 2018 and as you know this is the 2nd time I have been videoing myself,why you ask cause I just found out I have a twin brother in the UK in London so I'm on my way BYE!”

Joseph is determined to meet his twin brother but he doesn't know anything about him,he's just expecting him to be just like him.

3 2 1 action!”it's still the 20th of August about to board the duck aboard see ya in London!”

When Joseph was on the duck aboard he searched up his brothers, James Address And realised it was in the darkest,creepiest street in the whole of London. Joseph shrunked. He didn't know what he got himself into.

Once Joseph got off the duck aboard he took a taxi to his brothers house.

Joseph noticed that there was a key on the taxis carpet. It had and address on it R1149. That was his brothers address. “Here you go road 11 xxxxsxXxXwwwXxxnumber 49,” said the taxi sxxix,Joseph grabbed the key,paid the driver and hopped out of the car.

Joseph unlocked the door with the key. The first thing he saw was A duck wearing jandals and he looked exactly like him. The house was so big and nice but definitely not on the outside. “Hello I'm Joseph are you James Gunn?” Said Joseph with excitement as well as fear. “Hey! Brother I knew you would come Ondine day,” shouted James “you knew I was coming?” “Of course I knew I'm a detective as well, I am the one who put the key in the taxi. Now that I'm with you I'm not going to lose you. I've got my bags packed and I'm coming to live with you,” said James. Joseph said a big yes.

3 2 1 action! “Guess what I've found him and you know what we look exactly the same except he wears jandals, bye

now going to spend time with my twin bye for now!”

Teaching Georgia to round

WILF: teaching Georgia how to round 

Info:

This is a map Georgia and I made it has 3 north and 2 East. North and South = 98 and west and east = 13. We rounded 98 to 100 and 13 to 10, the answer was 320 we had to add 3 to 10 and take away 2 from 100 because we added on 2 to 98 to make a hundred and we took away 3 from 13 to make 10.

WALT: This term I have been in the dolphins 

Our goals in dolphins were:

➡️Use a regular breathing action.

➡️Swim one length freestyle

➡️Swim one length backstroke.

➡️Swim a two length medley.

Next step: My next step is to get better at breaststroke.

What did I do:

I did a poster and model about how I drive to school safely.

I did 7 thing on how to keep safe such as

-Buckle you seat belt 

-don't speed

-look around

-check the car

-keep you eyes on the road

-don't drink drive

- use your signals 

My model is a map on how I get to school.

I put:

-speed limit signs

-give way signs

-tran track 

-trees

And more.

I think maybe next time I'll try doing a different layout.
